2014 round robin
Another year, another office! Looking back at the previous yearly summary, the team had relocated once before. They've now moved again from their Shoreditch Works location, as that workspace was being redeveloped. Partnering with Socio Design, they secured a new office on Bankside behind the Tate Modern in a refurbished Metal Box factory space.
Team growth included welcoming Luke to the design department early in the year. Team member Bo took a mid-year sabbatical to Malaysia pursuing chocolate sourcing, launching her venture Beau Cacao.
Major project work featured collaboration with Pivotal Labs on "Espresso," a news app for The Economist that achieved "#1 ranking in its App Store category." The largest undertaking was InsightBee, a B2B research platform requiring regular travel to Zurich and a research trip to Delhi, where the team developed identity, UI/UX, and purchase experience design.
Additional website projects included platforms for wine expert Jancis Robinson, Bouncepad (tablet kiosk displays), and Hot Topics (tech business news). They refreshed Moon Climbing's Magento site and updated a co-working provider's digital presence.
Startup collaborations involved PRYYNT (print-on-demand integration), Network Locum (freelance NHS job platform experiencing conversion gains), and Launchpad (video interviewing platform showing strong growth).
Annual tradition included the team's cycling expedition covering "300+ kilometres" through Devon.
Charitable decision: Rather than traditional Christmas cards, they donated funds to Shelter's homeless children appeal, noting "90,000 children in Britain will be homeless this Christmas."
